Gary I. Nesbitt, Esq.

Gary I. Nesbitt, Esq.

We are proud to welcome Gary Ian Nesbitt as the new Chairman and Director of our Transactional Law Division – bringing decades of expertise, innovation, and strategic leadership to our firm.

Born and raised in Miami Beach, Florida, Gary was immersed in the legal profession from an early age. His father, the Honorable Alfred “Fred” Nesbitt, was a judicial stalwart whose decades of dedicated public service not only inspired Gary’s deep respect for justice but also earned him a distinguished place among the best retired judges to have served on the REGJB – a recognition akin to a judicial “Hall of Fame.” After earning his law degree from the University of Miami, where he received the American Jurisprudence Awards in both Florida Constitutional Law and Legal Ethics, Gary began his career as a public servant, advocating for civil rights as part of the Miami-Dade County Office of the Public Defender.

Transitioning to the private sector in 2003, Gary shifted his focus to corporate, business, and real estate law, leveraging his analytical foresight to help businesses and individuals navigate economic uncertainties. Recognizing the looming 2008 financial crisis, he proactively developed innovative solutions to protect business and real estate transactions, structuring mergers, acquisitions, corporate stock purchases, and refinancing agreements to secure financial stability for his clients. As the business market recovered, Gary was again able to focus on all legal matters connected to the creation, operation, governance and internal matters necessary for the many types of business entities and transactions and added serving the needs of international clients.

Gary’s extensive practice spans environmental law, zoning and code enforcement, construction law, estate planning, asset protection, and franchise law. He has represented both institutional and private lenders, ensuring optimal legal strategies tailored to client needs.  Gary is a member of the Florida Bar Real Property Probate & Trust Law as well as the Florida Bar Business Law Sections. Further, his remarkable AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, their highest possible rating for legal ability and professional ethics, awarded to him for twenty-five straight years underscores his commitment to legal excellence and professional ethics.

Beyond his legal career, Gary is known for his dedication to philanthropy, providing pro bono services to animal organizations, veterans’ groups, and cancer support foundations. He also served as legal advisor to the Atlanta March for Science. His passion for justice, loyalty to and protection of clients, and creative problem-solving defines his approach, making him the ideal leader for our firm’s Transactional Law Division.

Prospective clients will appreciate Gary’s proven ability to anticipate market shifts, craft strategic solutions, and lead with integrity. With his vast industry knowledge and personal commitment to client success, he ensures transactions are not just legally sound, but also positioned for long-term financial growth and, in particular, client protection.  Having such an extensive background, we are proud to welcome and announce Gary Ian Nesbitt as the Chairman and Director of our transactional division.
